
Mariachi
Matthew serves as the Music Specialist at the
Luther Burbank Center for the Arts
where he runs three Youth Mariachi Ensembles ranging from ages 9-20 years old.

(Northern California's First Youth All- Female Mariachi)

- Mariachi Toritos.

He also runs the Mariachi Program at
Maria Carrillo High School,
one of the first in Santa Rosa City Schools History. There are two Mariachi's, one for the beginner level and Advanced Levels.

LBC’s Mariachi Ensemble, a robust year-round program, serving some 140+ students, focuses on much more than music. Led by LBC’s Music Specialist Matthew Isais Bowker, it teaches technique, musicianship, and stage presence as well as social and emotional skills, like perseverance, leadership, cooperation, and collaboration. Students, ranging in age from 9 to 19, come from communities around Sonoma County including Cloverdale, Sebastopol, Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park, Sonoma, and Healdsburg

Maria Carrillo High School
Maria Carrillo High School's Mariachi. The program is composed of two different Mariachis, beginners and Advanced Players. There is a class during the day and a club that runs during lunch time. This is one of the first groups to be started in Santa Rosa City Schools.
